On and On and On and On Reverend Wright kept on going….

29 04 2008

…..until the man he obviously resents reputation is finally tarred.

And then everyone lived happily ever after.

The End.

“Like those movie monsters that just won’t die, the Reverend Wright horror show is back again — and it’s scaring Obama supporters who are hoping to win over skeptical white working-class voters in the pivotal Indiana primary. After talking to PBS and the Detroit NAACP over the weekend, as well as the D.C. Press Club earlier today, Wright, who happens to be working on a book, has returned to forefront of the campaign dialogue.

And John McCain is joining the conversation. After saying he wouldn’t make an issue out of Wright, the straight-talker is using Obama’s own words to change his stance. On Fox News Sunday, Obama told Chris Wallace, “The fact he’s my former pastor I think makes it a legitimate political issue. So I understand that.”

McCain responded later in the day that “if he believes that, then, it will probably be a political issue,” and then proceeded to (inaccurately) bring up more of Wright’s old, controversial remarks and tie them to Obama.”

Hmm what are you thinking folks? I appreciate spirituality but me no big on preachers AT ALL. I call them charlatans. Before you whine that Rev Wright speaks sense sometimes-all preachers do honey, they all do-which is why they are frighteningly so favored.

Huge fucking sigh.

I’ve been saying this from the start and I’ll say it again-Rev Wright doesn’t like Obama-at all. And this shit he has just spinned just before it’s really important for Obama to win over the white voters he lost-proves my fucking point.

has an interesting take to which is more about the hypocrisy of religion & people like Mr Wright…

“Today, at the National Press Club, Wright explained his 9-11 comments by referring to, what else, the Bible.

“To quote the Bible: Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap. Jesus said ‘Do unto others as you would have them to do unto you.’ You cannot do terrorism on other people and expect it never to come back on you. Those are biblical principles, not Jeremiah Wright bombastic, divisive principles.”

This is all well and good; The United States, like any other global power, has committed atrocities in its pursuit of global hegemony and so it shouldn’t be sensational to say violence begets violence. It does and it always will.

But I continually fail to understand why people, such as the Rev. Wright, resort to Old Testament morality (let’s forget the Jesus quote since he never attributes it to his presumptive father) to make such a point and overlook its moral implications.

Let’s not forget that imperialism practiced by the United States, which the Rev. Wright rightfully condemns, was practiced biblically by the ancient Israelites in the “promised land” by the most vicious, god-condoned method of imperialism: genocide. (Although the Bible is replete with genocidal directives from Yahweh, take a look at Numbers 31 for the worst of the worst.)

So if the Rev. Wright takes the Bible seriously, he must defend the ancient Israelites’ genocide of competing tribes such as the Canaanites because it was heavenly directed while condemning U.S. imperialism because he knows, whether by divine communication or rationally inference, that god did not grant the U.S. manifest destiny.”

Oh Matthew-I agree with you but you can’t talk fucking logic with religious people-or most Americans it seems!

Are you a Clinton support? They’ve made mincemeat of him and I blame him. This is fucking stupid. How can you trust a man like Wright? His people did not do their homework-this is like the most shoddy thing I’ve seen in my life!

It sucks but the delegates HATE Hilary but who knows…Obama needs to step up and show some fucking balls!
